Brothers Charles and Daniel Carpenter set west in 1837, and when they were unable to cross the Fox River due to rising water levels, they decided to plant their roots in the town they named Carpenters Grove. In 1851, Charles’ son, Angelo, renamed the town Carpentersville, which was incorporated in 1887. Carpentersville is located about 37 miles Northwest of Chicago’s Loop and houses close to 38,000 residents. Residents of Carpentersville stand by their motto “Building a better tomorrow today.” Carpentersville’s innovative history offers residents the comfort of living in a town that’s passionate about commerce, social diversity, and maintaining a close knit community.
