Local, pride-worthy, and charming are all perfect ways to describe Rita’s in Lake Bluff. Most would say Rita’s has a unique and rustic ambiance that helps to set them apart. This is primarily because Rita’s location was actually an old farmhouse, transformed into a beautiful family owned food lounge. Head down Rockland Road and you’ll be sure to spot the eclectic building!
The owner always strived to be her own boss, so she opened Rita’s, which has been successfully family owned and operated for the past 15 years. Rita’s is well known for their Fish Fry, which is all caught and prepared fresh on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They have a small, homey atmosphere, and most patrons call their servers “mom” as the sign on the wall suggests. In addition to the fish, Rita’s also has excellent chicken, burgers, and fresh homemade soups. The prime rib served on Saturday nights is excellent and a huge hit amongst locals. And if this doesn’t get your taste buds tingling, be sure to check out their full menu and other daily specials because at Rita’s there is something for everyone!
Rita’s is a family restaurant, but has a separated adult section as well. Their beautiful bar area is distinguished from the main dining area, although guests are welcome to dine at the bar. There are plenty of domestic beers on tap to choose from as well as a variety of wine and spirits. The gaming area is cozy, inviting, and remotely located in the front room of the building. For cold beer, a hearty meal and video gaming, you can’t beat Rita’s!
