The Spot has been in business since the 1950’s, but the current owners took over about fifteen years ago. This small-town, local bar has a cozy, comfortable atmosphere, and it’s the perfect spot to watch your favorite game. Locals typically enjoy stopping into The Spot because of the great food and quality company. Because they’re sports oriented, there are tons of TVs around, and the menu consists of classic bar dishes.
Open for both lunch and dinner, The Spot is famous for their huge burgers, specifically “The Spot Burger.” This three-quarter-pound burger has been featured in numerous different media outlets throughout the Chicago and Rockford areas. This burger is going to feed anyone, and they’ll probably have leftovers as well. As one customer put it in the NW Herald, “it is as large as eating a meatloaf on a bun.” The Spot will cook the burgers any way you want them with whatever ingredients you desire. Everything here is hand-packed and prepared fresh daily.
While their menu is reasonably priced to begin with, they offer daily food and drink specials. There are $1 domestic drafts on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays, there are 75¢ drafts and Taco Tuesday. Wing Wednesdays have 75¢ wings, and on Thursdays there are 50¢ Sloppy Joe’s. When you visit The Spot, be sure to bring cash…they keep it old school!
The Spot is very active in the community. They commonly participate in charity bike runs as well as school functions. If your looking for a spot to enjoy great company, quality food, and cold beer..The Spot is your spot!
