The Woodstock VFW is a non-profit organization serving veterans and their families while promoting patriotism in Woodstock and the surrounding communities. The Woodstock VFW dates back to 1945 and World War II when veterans began working on establishing the post. The VFW was built on four pillars: service to veterans, service to youth and families, service to the community, and patriotism.
In early 2017, The Woodstock VFW relocated in order to downsize and modernize. They now occupy a cozy basement located on Main Street in the heart of the Downtown Woodstock Square. They now feature a beautiful solid wood bar amongst stone walls, a lounge area with leather sofas surrounding a small fireplace, and a sizeable dining room available for parties. The dining room holds over 60 people, and the entire establishment can accommodate about 220 guests. Space can be rented out to members and the general public for special occasions. The Woodstock VFW hosts plenty of their own events to raise money for veterans and their families including benefit outings, dinners, and dances. They now offer their patrons a remote gaming area where guests can try their luck on one of their four gaming machines featuring dozens of games!
The Woodstock VFW provides a place their members can call home. All eligible veterans are encouraged to apply for membership at their local VFW so they can take advantage of the benefits and camaraderie this fraternal organization has to offer.
